A major Market Harborough charity is set to hand out immediate financial support to people hit hard by the coronavirus pandemic.

The Howard Watson Symington Memorial Charity is offering one-off grants of £100 to individuals and families struggling to make ends meet.

Support is available to residents of Harborough and the Bowdens made redundant or who have had a pay cut as a result of the closure or reduction in business of their employer as a direct result of the coronavirus crisis.

The charity said it “will also consider applications from self-employed people living in the area”.

- A letter or email from your employer confirming you have either been made redundant, furloughed or placed on reduced wages or salary as a result of the coronavirus outbreak

- Your name and address

- Email and telephone contact details

Name of your bank, name of your account, sort code and account number - for payment of the grant.
