“We received a report of a suspicious incident involving a red car in Market Harborough, possibly paying interest in a dog.

“We’re investigating and have found the correct registration of the vehicle,” said Harborough police.

“Please report anything suspicious to us so we can check.”

The incident comes after a mini-spree of dog thefts across Harborough and throughout Leicestershire in January and February.
