A well-used three-piece suite was dragged over a quarter of a mile through the streets before being dumped in a popular park in Kibworth Harcourt.

The unwanted beige two-seater and two armchairs were put out by a couple in the village to be collected and taken away.

But the furniture was randomly hauled well over 400 yards from Elliot Close across the railway bridge before being planted in the play area in Warwick Park.

One of the chairs was left on a slide in the playground to both the amusement and bemusement of local people.

The three-piece suite was loaded up on to a truck and driven away by Harborough District Council contractors at the weekend.
